Hey Everybody-
A very special thanks to a couple of our readers who have very generously donated to help us out! Thanks!

Sorry for the delay, but we’re just about to post our Laos stuff. This is good, because we’re headed to Hanoi, Vietnam on Sunday. So finally, here’s Laos in 3 parts:

Part 1: Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang
Hey Everybody-
We’re back from our 2-day visit to Muang Ngoi Neau. It was beautiful, interesting and chilly (a feeling we haven’t had in a while). Pictures and more info coming soon, but for now you can lower the threat alert level back down to beige again.

Main Street- Muang Ngoi Neau, Laos
This is a tiny wild pig, one of the critters that lived at Mountain View Guesthouse, where we stayed in Sukhothai.

Hey Everybody-
We’re headed off the tourist trail (a little) to some smaller villages here in Laos. We’ll probably be out of touch for a couple of days, so don’t panic!

Here’s a quick glimpse of Pak Beng, a riverside town in Laos that serves as the overnight stopping point for the 2 day boat trip between the Thai-Lao border and Luang Prabang. The tiny town is clearly built around tourism, so it’s very heavy on guesthouses, bars and restaurants. We paid about $20 for a guesthouse room, dinner, breakfast and lunch to go for the boat trip the next day. Not bad…
